It was a bright, hot and sunny day in Long Beach, California - almost perfect weather for the season opener of Formula Drift. This event has become infamous in the Southern California area, as drifters take to the Streets of Long Beach prior to the Long Beach Grand Prix race. There were several new cars out on the prowl, including Ken Gushi's RS*R Scion tC that made quite the splash at its first event, finding its way into top 16 competition already. Daijiro Yoshihara was out in the GTO as well Wild Bill Sherman in what is now the Braille Battery Nissan 350Z that was originally built by Enjuku Racing. Two Nissan 350Zs claimed the spots on the podium with Chris Forsberg taking first place, Sam Hubinette back in the Mopar Viper taking second and defending champion Tanner Foust taking third place. Tanner was also sporting new decal schemes on his championship 350Z; Rockstar Energy Drink seems to have gotten on board with him and Stephan Papadakis.

Next top, Atlanta!
