Let’s face it - there’s more S13s coming out of the woodwork now than ever. What’s like the Civics and Integras previously, the modifying of the S13 chassis has grown tenfold in the last year. Setting yourself apart from the crowd has now become as difficult as ever. What started off as an S13 with a Silvia front end and a flat black spray painted paint job bearing a nickname of SH**boX, has become this work of art splashed with a bright pink shade. Through a new owner that had a whole new vision for the car, its transformation took place in less than a year bringing from SH**boX status to something everyone would drool over.

The first thing that was done to the S13 chassis was the typical SR20DET swap. A red top S13 turbocharged motor found its way into the engine bay with the basic boltons of an APEXi N1 exhaust, GReddy downpipe, testpipe and GReddy front mount intercooler. When Doug took possession of the car however, the stock turbo just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Pulling a GReddy 18g turbo kit off the shelf and custom fabricating it to fit, this S13 transformed into a whole new monster. Additional fuel and tuning parts were added, as well as a Koyo aluminum radiator to keep everything nice and cool. The transformation didn’t end there however, it was decided that the exterior was too shameful for the public eye.

Charge Speed was called upon for their brand new S15 front end conversion. Along with the S15 front end conversion, a carbon fiber Charge Speed S15 hood was bolted on as well as their carbon fiber hatch. Knowing that the S15 front end was going to be popular, Doug stepped it up a notch by going widebody on the S13 chassis. A set of Kouki S13 taillights were tossed in the rear for the JDM look, as well as a pair of GTP carbon fiber canards on the Charge Speed front bumper. The finishing touch however was the resplash of the bright pink shade on the entire chassis of the car. The color’s a secret though, but you honestly have to see it to believe it.
A huge blend of TEIN and Tanabe suspension components keep this car stuck to the ground and ready for any local drifting events. Too pretty to drift? The TEIN FLEX coilovers along with the EDFC, tie rods, and tension rods beg differently. From Tanabe are all new upper rear camber arms, rear pillow link and rear pillow toe rod from their drift spec lineup of parts. Nissan Z32 4 piston front calipers replace the mushy stock S13 units. Brembo cross drilled rotors also replaced the old components on the car. Setting off the entire exterior is a set of 19x9 and 19x10.5 Maya STM wheels. Wrapped with Nitto NT555 rubber, this car is just breathtaking when rolling on the streets.

The interior isn’t lacking either, as a series of Defi BF gauges are installed on the dash. The TEIN EDFC along with the APEXi S-AFCII light up the interior. Both driver and passenger sit comfortably in a pair of Sparco Evo3 racing seats, buckled in tightly with the real deal Simpson 5 point racing harnesses. For safety, Doug turned to none other than Mark Mazurowski and a weld-in through dash roll cage from Mazworx.

We’d rather let the pictures do the talking here. This car is without a doubt one of the most unique S13s out there despite starting life as a SH**boX. For those wondering about the shoot, it did take place outside a strip club. It was quite the pleasure dealing with Diamond Club as they were nice enough to let their employees move their cars from the front parking lot to accomodate our shoot. And yes, a girl ran out with money dangling from the waist to move her car. It was hot.
