Years have gone by since the very first B series engine swap was made into an EG chassis. Since then, it’s almost expected to see a B series lurking in the engine bay of all the Civic chassis out there in the world. Needless to say it takes a lot more than just a standard swap these days to turn heads and impress the crowds. Brian Hibbs shot this EG as a cover car for HCI magazine, so without further having to say anymore - we’re pretty well aware that this hatch has a lot more than just a standard swap.

Cracking open the hood the first thing everyone will notice are the TWM 50mm individual throttle bodies. The madness didn’t’ start there however, the motor set in the engine bay is none other than a B20 / B16 hybrid. Equipped with CP 85mm 12.5:1 compression pistons and a BASZ R series head, this high revv’ing hybrid motor gains plenty more power thanks to Skunk2 Pro 1 cams and STR cam gears. Bolted onto the long block is a Hytech header that leads out to a RS*R GTII cat back exhaust system.

As extensive as the power train modifications are, the exterior of this hatch grabs plenty of attention with its short list of nicely done modifications. JDM fog lights, headlights, side markers and side moldings found their way on the US counterpart, while a Fresco Green Pearl paint job reiterates that this EG is definitely not straight off the lot. Carbon fiber goods can be seen bolted onto the chassis including a Spoon Sports carbon fiber lip, VIS hood, VIS rear lip and APR mirrors.
Suspension wise the car is lowered on Omni Sport coilovers with Work RSZ-R wheels on all four corners. None other than Falken Azenis tires wrap up the lightweight Work wheels in a 205/50/15 shape.

For those that weren’t able to catch this car in the issue of HCI, we’d like to thank those weird ninjas over there for giving us the opportunity to show it off on tunerZine for the masses.
