It’s 3:45am and my alarm clock, TV, alarm, computer alarm, and my cool new phone’s wake-up call feature are all going off! To tell you the truth, it sounded like someone got let loose and turned everything on in an electronics store! I jump out of bed quickly, and hurry to get on the road. I hit the highway for what would be a three hour car ride to get to the car I planned on shooting. I finally get to the area on time, call my man Jon, and then proceed to eat some breakfast. After a quick value meal, we go out to start shooting. Now I know all of you folks are just like me and love a well seasoned car, and this car comes with it all! See first, let me tell you some stuff about my man Jon Guadalupe aka “JonJon” as all of us South Carolinians know him as. JonJon has been involved in the import scene since ’95. He’s what all of us, east or west coast for that matter, call an old schooler.
When Jon, or any of these old schoolers do up a car, you don’t just see a bunch of money thrown into a car, but you also see a flavor that’s been put into it. You can see their soul in this machine. This is Jon’s newest creation. Starting with the exterior of this 94 Civic Si, you will instantly notice the color. Galapagos Green borrowed from the Honda Element is just so eye catching, and the Midnight Black Pearl top complements all of the carbon goodies this hatch has. I mean, we have it all on this car, but I just have to tell you all about a few of the parts on this car to really show you the “Bling Factor” it carries.
I am going to jump straight on the Bride seats. A fully reclinable carbon kevlar bucket that hits the market at just around $1800.00! I will say it again, one seat = $1800.00! How about I bring up the $1400.00 Spoon brake calipers? Or how about the discontinued Mugen FG360 steering wheel, ITR cluster, 16″ Mugen MF10 wheels and lightweight black lug nuts, Formula valve cover, pedals, oil cap, and front strut bar? Wow, I won’t even get into those, but know the price adds up among the collectors and enthusiasts. When everyone wants a piece of art like JonJon’s car, they must not cut any corners in any area, and the suspension and stopping power of this car shows that the most! Jon chose to go with the 5-lug suspension conversion from the Integra Type R. With this move, it allows for you to not only have an all around better handling car, but it allows a few more things as well. Better braking being the number one choice for this conversion, it also allows you a much wider selection of wheel combos to use, since the Toyotas and Nissans both use this 5×114.3 setup aka a wide 5. Better braking is one thing, but when Jon added the Spoon 2 piston calipers, he instantly stepped into the world of the supercar with his braking capabilities. Talk about stopping on a dime; when you are going over 45 and slam on your brakes, you will see sparks!

These things do work son! With all of this talking and explaining why this car deserves to be a feature, I forgot to mention the ITR dash, Mugen ECU, Takata 4 point harness, the NRG quick release, the first gen uber rare Miracle X-bar. ahh there’s just too much to even name! Everything from Jon’s baller ass seat to the engine, this car delivers! Plus, it made for one hell of a road trip as well! Did I mention that this thing was a daily driver, WITH air conditioning and power steering??? I must have forgot with talking about all the bling and explaining things to tell you guys and gals that Jon pilots this bad boy to work on a daily basis. Don’t we all wish we were that lucky?!
Editor’s take on JonJon’s Si:
Now it’s obvious that Ben is more than passionate about this EG, and who can blame him? Every component on the car is top notch quality and nothing is over done. One thing that Ben didn’t really focus on in his article however is how done up the motor setup is. This EG not only got a B18C swap, but a B18C swap that’s been built with plenty of go-fast goods that keep it running hard all over the streets. In the bottom end are a set of high compression 11.5:1 Endyn RollerWave pistons. Up in the head are Skunk2 valvetrain components and their coveted cams and Pro series cam gears. ARP studs and bolts hold the newly built motor back together while bolt ons include a JDM ITR 4-1 header, Blox intake manifold and Password carbon cold air intake.
The transmission was swapped out for a ’98 JDM Integra Type-R one, helping better realize the power gains with the engine mods. The gearing is perfect with the 4.7 final drive and an ACT clutch and lightened flywheel ensures every bit of power gets to the ground and fast! But everything else aside, this EG is one hell of a beauty and having already graced the cover of S3 magazine, we are more than happy to have it part of the Tunerzine family.
