The Honda S2000, or S2k as most tuners say, was an instant hit when it showed up on American sales floors in 1999. The car was the latest in the “S” series from Honda dating back at least 40 years. And while the S2k doesn’t look all that good stock, at least not compared to a Z4 and the new 350Z, there are more than enough body kits and lip kits to give this tuner ride an aggressive or stylish look. In fact, with the number of aftermarket parts and pieces available for the S, it has the ability to be customized to each owner’s liking.

Today we’re taking a look at Roger Nakada’s black S2000. And what a beautiful S2k he’s built. Starting where the rubber meets the road we find 18” Volk Racing GT-N wheels in a bronze color that really makes them stand out. Behind the wheels hides Cryo treated, slotted, and drilled rotors to help the S2k stop on a dime. Applying the pressure to the rotors is a set of Hawk Racing brake pads.

Aside from the Volk wheels, everything else on the outside of this car is black on black on… well you get the idea. The front bumper and side skirts come from GP Sports. The back of the S features a ASM Inspired rear bumper. To help with the airflow around the S2000, Roger’s installed a carbon fiber front splitter from S2X. In the rear we find more carbon fiber in a diffuser from J’s Racing. The wing on the back of the S also comes from J’s Racing and of course it’s made of carbon fiber as well.
Of course, it isn’t just about looking good. I mean, why look good when you can’t go fast? But do you always have to do it with a turbocharger or supercharger? Well Roger doesn’t seem to think so. He’s built an all-motor S2k using parts from one of Honda’s main aftermarket providers. I’m talking about Spoon, a company that’s been making parts for just about every Honda available for quite a while. The headgasket, bright yellow valve cover, kevlar spark plug cover, torque dampner, front strut bar, and oil cap all come from Spoon. The headers, test pipe, dual exhaust set-up are courtesy of RSR. Roger’s also taken the opportunity to upgrade his fuel injectors to 440cc injectors.

Now the styling doesn’t stop when you reach the exterior of this S. Pull off the hard top and you’ll find even more goodies on the inside. Your rear never moves in the Bride Zeta III seats. And the Momo Competition steering wheel makes controlling his ride fun and easy for Roger. You’ll even find another part from Spoon in the form of a shift knob that makes shifting gears a breeze. The tunes from the Alpine radio sound pretty good through the Boston speaker-tweeter setup. Now should Roger take a trip to the track, the 6-point roll cage will help keep him safe in case an accident occurs.

Now a lot of people put a lot of hard work into this S2k. Roger wants to thank Greg at GT Motoring.com, Todd & Rick at 2nerworks, and All-Version Motoring. And I’d like to thank them to. They did a really good job on making this S look hot. But you don’t have to take my word for it, take a trip down the page and check out the pictures for yourself.
