7 years ago, Matt Waldin purchased an S13 not knowing anything about it. But the second there were some organized drift events, he was hooked. Fast forward to present day and Waldin now owns and operates Import Intelligence, making a name for himself and his company out on the drifting scene. His S13 has come a long way too from the stock form that Waldin picked it up as. It’s now seen with a gorgeous S15 front end conversion by Origin Lab with a full Stylish body kit to accent the already attractive lines. Finishing off the exterior though is a beautiful House of Kolor Orange Kandy paint job that really makes this S13.5 scream on and off the track. It’s hard not to notice Waldin’s car as it gracefully swings itself sideways at events nationwide. A painted carbon fiber hood frees up some weight while a Bomex Drift spoiler adds a little more in the aerostyling department.

Up front is a set of 17x9-inch Volk Racing CE28N wheels in a contrasting gold finish. Back in the rear are wider and larger 18x9.5-inch CE28Ns. Waldin’s rubber of choice are currently Dunlops with 275/35/18 in the rear and 245/45/17 in the front. In the interior, Import Intelligence shows off what they’re all about with their needle and gauges kit. An A’PEXi AVC-R boost controller along with Autometer’s boost, pyrometer and oil pressure gauges make up the electronics. Waldin also opted to move the start key to the center console and swapped out the stock e-brake for a K-Sport piece and the stock shift knob for a GReddy unit.

Under the hood is where all the beauty happens though. A typical SR20DET swap has been tossed in with all the bells and whistles imaginable. Full-Race comes into play with their GT3071 top moutn turbo setup fully equipped with twin scroll setup. Forged rods along with a set of S15 pistons, HKS camshafts and BC valve springs make up the internals on the engine. Helping pump out 434whp on pump gas is a GReddy intercooler, Koyo radiator, Walbro fuel pump, JGY Customs fuel rail and MSD 72# fuel injectors. Turbo goods include a Turbonetics Godzilla blow-off valve and TiAL 44mm external wastegate. Out the rear is the ever popular A’PEXi N1 exhaust system. A Haltech E-11 engine management helps keep this SR tuned the way Waldin needs it to tear up the strip.
Our friends over at WreckedMagazine.com recently covered Matt Waldin and his S13.5 as Waldin recently has received his license. So keep your eyes out for Waldin next season as he starts becoming more and more competitive with drifting.
