With the launch of Gran Turismo 4, car enthusiasts across America lined up with their steering wheels and memory cards ready to roll. For us photographers though, we scrambled to build a car and went straight into the photo mode. Poking around, we were stroked to see the abilities to change backdrops, move the cars, turn the wheels, etc. Many of us popped into the advanced mode and all freaked out seeing zoom ranges and aperture values and other goodies we could play with. The AIM windows were blinking like mad as all of us went and had some fun.

For those that haven’t had the time to explore the photo mode, you should all load up your favorite cars and take it out for a spin. It really is a treat to photographers and there is a sense of realism in adjusting exposures and locations, placing the cars and lighting, etc. Bored and don’t have a car to shoot? Play it out in GT4! Best of all (if you haven’t figured it out already) you can stick in a USB memory stick and instantly download the screenshots for editing on a PC.
Leh Keen (who professionally drives and races) had the Japanese version of GT4 and when the US one came out he wasted no time in building his bank. Having some of the most insane cars available, he went and creatively did some great shots for tunerZine. We had originally wanted to use these as feature cars but with the GT4 craze spreading like the plague we decided to just stick with a side feature. Get some insight and influence by checking out Leh’s screenshots!
