The FD RX-7 is still one of the most beautiful and sought after cars around. When Mazda discontinued the RX-7 moniker and replaced it with the RX-8, the RX-7 arguably became more popular as they were rarer to come across. Vincent Wong of iForged has always loved the FD3S chassis and knew now was the perfect time to build a one-of-a-kind RX-7 to not only attract his consumers, but to make a statement at SEMA a couple of years back. What started as a stock body RX-7 quickly transformed into this beautiful spectacle that now graces our e-zine.

On the exterior there’s no mistaking that this RX-7 has received a full treatment from Veilside. The infamous Fortune widebody kit has completely mutated this RX-7 from subtle daily driver to monster show car. The hood, headlights, front bumper, rear bumper, mirrors, wing and carbon fiber front lip all come from Veilside’s Fortune line. The entire car was then resprayed with BASF’s Pearl Yellow paint with a two tone black mixed in. A series of Carbon Innovation carbon fiber goods were also added on the inside and the outside including door handles, center console, and shifter console. The stock taillights were also swapped out for a more up to date set of JDM ones from ’99. Continuing on the interior, Bride Vios III seats can be seen along with a Cusco 8-point roll cage and Sparco racing harnesses. A series of gauges from Autometer measures everything imaginable for the fortunate driver.
Backing up the splendid good lucks is a completely rebuilt rotary engine. All new 2mm seals, rotor housings and balanced rotors from Racing Beat transform the stock 13B into a monster, reflective of its exterior. HKS comes in with a T04E single turbo upgrade coupled with a GReddy front mount intercooler. Standard turbo components include an HKS Super Sequential blow off valve and air filter. Additional cooling has been thrown into the mix with a Koyo aluminum radiator and Earl’s 32-row oil cooler. The transmission has received an overhaul as well with a KAAZ 2-way limited slip differential, B&M short shifter and SPEC stage 3 clutch. Additional fuel is tuned with a PowerFC with 660cc primary injectors and 1200cc secondary injectors. Denso comes into play with their fuel p ump while SX regulates the fuel pressure. Coming out the rear is a HKS carbon fiber titanium exhaust.

Knowing that this vehicle was built as a marketing tool for iForged, it’s no question that a fine set of 19x9 and 20x11 iForged Daytona/Fortune wheels are seen on the car. Yokohama Advan rubber covers the front in a 255/30/19 size while the rears are wrapped with massive 305/25/20s. Suspension is handled with a set of TEIN Flex coilovers with EDFC, a Cusco front strut bar and Racing Beat front and rear sway bars. Hiding behind the beautiful iForged wheels are a set of Rotora big brakes. 6 piston calipers with 14-inch rotors in the front and 4 piston, 13-inch rotors in the rear.

Lastly, the in car electronics department is filled with goods from Pioneer and Rockford Fosgate. Vincent Wong from iForged didn’t skip a beat when building this Fortune RX-7 and we’ll let the pictures do the talking.
