In the land of Euros, they’re mostly dominated by Audis, BMWs and VWs. Often times in the spotlight we see the more expensive cars being featured, but it’s always a pleasure to see the hot buildups of VWs out there. Daren’s 2002.5 GTi is one of these VWs, decked out in Rieger goodies accenting the Reflex Silver straight from VW’s production line. Having some turbocharged fun just adds to the amusement as we take a closer look into the entire package.
Let’s take a look at the exterior shall we? Up on the front end is a set of Rieger goodies in the form of a front spoiler lip and a front splitter. Rieger side skirts and a rear valence were painted to match and installed on. With the body decked out taking on a whole new form, the GTi shaved some weight with a DTM Karbon carbon fiber Boser hood. Back in the rear is a fitting and matching roof spoiler from the same manufacturer. The headlights were then smoked along with the MHW side markers, leaving the Bahn Brenner clear corner lamps to offset it all. Out in the rear, Hella Magic taillights fill the gap in a smoked fashion as well.
Bringing the Europrojektz GTi to the ground is a set of KW V1 INOX coilovers. The rear sway bar was beefed up to a Neuspeed 28mm unit and the front received a Neuspeed lower tie bar. Eurosport brings in their goods with a rear stress bar on this GTi as well. With the suspension properly taken care of, Darin had to decide on a proper set of wheels and tires for his VW. Going with the RH Alurad wheels in a staggered 18x8 and 18x9 setup, they’re wrapped with Yokohama AVS Sport tires and fitted underneath each fender of the car
Performance doesn’t stop there, as the turbocharged motor has an abundance of goods as well. An Injen cold air intake is just the start of the goods, as the force induced air propels itself into the motor. A GReddy Type-31 front mount intercooler is seen behind the front bumper, and a GReddy Type-S blow off valve whistles in the air. An APR 2.5 inch downpipe with a highflow cat begins the expelling of fumes all the way through a Eurosport 2.5 inch cat back exhaust. A GIAC X chip helps tune the boosted motor for plenty of reliable horsepower as Darin drives this car everyday. Finishing off the performance modifications is a EuroSport underdrive crank pulley and a Spool Sportz hyper ground kit
On the interior this VW hardly lacks. Filled with goodies from Isotta, Darin’s able to enjoy his everyday drive just a little more: shift boot with aluminum trim, shift knob, Nivola DSX steering wheel, and sequential shift light all share the Isotta name. When opening the doors you can admire the custom aluminum GTi door sill guards that seems a fitting match to the Audi TT pedal set. A triplet of VDO gauges shine in the interior as well, displaying Voltmeter, Boost Gauge and Oil Temp necessities. The madness doesn’t end there as Kenwood decks out the in car electronics. Darin’s got more in store, and we’ll have to keep a close eye on him and his Europrojektz brethren
