The almighty Supra has hit once again on tunerZine. This time it’s not a tame black Supra with stock body lines, it’s a bright yellow aggressive Supra with new and unique styling. Sporting a Stillen urethane front bumper and JUN replica carbon fiber hood, this Supra just shines in the sun with its new splash of Ferrari Modena yellow paint. And in case this car doesn’t just naturally burn your retinas, it should make you near deaf as it builds heavy boost flying past you.
The stock twin turbo 2JZ setup was swapped out for a single turbo conversion from RPS. Utilizing a brand new Precision PT66 turbo, this 2JZ now builds boost levels unheard of from the factory. A Turbonetics racegate handles the boost responsibilities while an HKS Racing Type 1 Blow Off Valve relieves the unnecessary pressure between shifts. The entire newly boost fed system is cooled off with a Blitz front mount intercooler that can hardly be missed behind the Stillen front opening. All the force induced exhaust is exited through a HKS Carbon Fiber / Titanium 95mm exhaust system. With its new boost levels, this Supra is fine tuned on an AEM EMS management system with ignition responsibilities handled by an AEM C2DI ignition box. High horsepower and stock clutch is just never spoken of. The myth is relieved in this Supra as well, with an RPS Stage 3 clutch sitting snug in the transmission, along with an Unorthodox Racing lightweight flywheel.
With all its new turbo boosted glory and an intricate management system, the interior of the car was equipped with several monitoring devices. A gauge-tech display was installed for the AEM unit, while two gauges from APEXi provide the vitals: boost and EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature). A GReddy turbo timer was also thrown into the mix to ensure a proper shutdown procedure on the car after heavy drives. As this Supra prowls the streets, shifting gears is made a breeze thanks to a B&M short shifter. Pilot and company can fit snug in a matching pair of Sparco Torino seats. Through the interior is a carbon fiber mix, thanks to a carbon fiber dash kit. Indiglo gauges light up the tach and speedometer in the late nights as well.
Speaking of the cockpit, this Supra is well endowed in the audio department as well. 2” JL Audio W12 subs are found in the trunk powered by a Phoenix Gold amplifier. Polk Audio mids and highs bring out the music in the cabin with a Sony amplifier powering those. Taking precedent as a head unit and a TV, a Clarion In Dash unit can be seen in the center console.
Taking a step back to look and appreciate the entire package, this Supra has been lowered on Eibach Springs with custom CCW wheels on all four corners. The Classic Street series has become more popular on the Supra applications, and this yellow rocket sports an offsetting gunmetallic set. With an 18x10 in the front and a wide 18x11.5 in the rear, this Supra packs plenty of rubber meat as well: 275/35/18 and 315/30/18. In finale, Brembo cross drilled rotors can be seen behind every CCW wheel.
