As more people are investing time and money transplanting the K series motor into the Civic hatchbacks, people actually interested in the RSX chassis have shied away from the light. Clearly not as popular as its predecessor, the Integra chassis, the RSX has had its limitations in the aftermarket in both the search for power and good looks. It’s a different story for this black RSX however; desiring plenty of power and fully competent in the K series and the RSX chassis, this RSX tears up the streets of Texas with a vengeance.

Proving that the stock internal K20 can take plenty of abuse, Brandon converted his Type-S RSX to a 520whp monster. Utilizing a GT35R thermal coated turbo, a custom one-fab top mount exhaust manifold brings it all to life. The normal turbo kit goods include a TiAl 50mm blow off valve and 44mm wastegate. Auto Logic made the 4-inch aluminum intake and 3-inch aluminum intercooler piping. All the piping goes to a Precision large front mount intercooler. Additional fuel is handled by Precision injectors. The stock clutch and flywheel didn’t have what it took to stay up with the 520whp however, so a Clutchmasters 6-puck clutch along with a lightened flywheel was thrown into the drivetrain.
Tuning the car is a K-Pro EMS system with a pair of GReddy 52mm gauges keeping Brandon notified and up to date with all the necessities: boost and exhaust gas temperatures. The exterior of the car was kept rather simple, with the massive intercooler as ample warning on what’s underneath the hood. A set of TEIN RA coilovers gives the RSX a lowered stance as well as much stiffer spring rates for better handling. On each corner of the RSX sits a Volk Racing TE37 in an 18x7.5 variety. Wrapped with 245/40/18 BFG drag radials (in the front) the RSX is always on the prowl and ready to go. The actual body of the car has only been enhanced with a set of JDM headlights and a Type-R rear spoiler.
With only 350 or so whp, Brandon had blitzed the quarter mile at 11.8 @ 119mph. Now that One-Fab and Brandon has put down 520whp, we’ll be up to date with his next crazy pass. Daily driven 10 second RSX? It’s in the works!
